Accelerated Math & 6 Math

Accelerated Math:

This week we practiced showing all our steps with the order of operations. We have practiced writing down one step at a time and it will be monitoring their understanding throughout the entire year. We had a quiz on Friday and grades will be updated as soon as possible.

6 Math:

This week we worked with finding distances on coordinate planes. We also found perimeters of polygons by finding distances on the coordinate plane. We will have a test on Tuesday, October 22 over Topic 2. That test includes: integers, rational numbers, absolute value, and coordinate planes.

Reading

In Reading, students have wrapped up their 1st quarter summative with their One Pager. It will be a 30 point summative that reflects that they actually read a book this quarter.

Writing

In Writing, students are working on their Multimedia Project. This will be due on November 1st and all of the instructions are on Google Classroom. The project consists of students choosing any topic, then they will create a fictional short story and any two projects of their choice, all connected to their topic.

Science

This week to show how the muscular and skeletal system work together we dissected chicken wings. We diagnosed our first patient with a torn Achilles tendon. We started writing a CER (claim, evidence, reasoning) and will finish Monday. This will be the last grade of the quarter.
