National Junior Honor Society:   Requirements for consideration of membership:

Scholarship:  Average of core academic subjects must be > 85 for 2 consecutive marking periods beginning grade 7.  Must be in top percentile on standardized tests.   At this point, you apply for membership, demonstrating: service, character, leadership, & citizenship.

Service:  Minimum of 7 hours of service per trimester, documented on service record form with adult signature verification.  

Character:  Maximum of 1 detention per trimester.  No suspensions allowed.

Leadership:  Must demonstrate leadership role in at least two activities.

Citizenship:  Must demonstrate involvement in the Voluntown community.
