Through your on-the-job learning experience you will be provided with opportunities for organized field experience placements to receive sufficient experience to make them fully proficient in areas of Professionalism, Environment, Planning, and Instruction.
These experiences present opportunities to observe, practice, and demonstrate content and pedagogy.
The OTJLC are broken down into 4 categories:
Professionalism
Environment
Planning
Instruction
These categories are either a required duty - meaning they are either met or not met by the due date - or they are an acquired competency- something you will develop during your time as an apprentice, gradually becoming proficient.
Many of these competencies can be accomplished
in your current position,
but many of them will require a bit of flexibility to be accomplished while practicing
in a classroom of the licensure area you are seeking.
Below is a chart of all of the competencies to be accomplished by the end of your time as an apprentice.
This chart contains:
Completion dates: when you are expected to complete them (some are ongoing, meant to be worked on every semester and some are meant to be met once or twice).
Alignment with county observation tools: how these competencies are aligned to TEAM and Project Coach.

To advance in the program, apprentices are required to demonstrate full proficiency in all areas of Professionalism, Environment, Planning, and Instruction.
Ultimately, your mentor teacher will need to verify that the required competencies are completed and are successfully accomplished.
