Ms. Carter's Website

Welcome Gryphons!

This website should be a helpful and informative tool for students and families to obtain information that may not be included on Canvas or is difficult to find. Each of my classes and clubs are listed below and can be clicked on to get to that specific page. You can click Contact Me at the bottom of the page to directly email me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to a fun and STEM packed school year!

Ms. Carter

My Alma Mater is the University of Tennessee Knoxville. My Bachelor's degree is in Physics with a concentration in Astronomy and my Master's is in Secondary Education. My time at UTK lead to a NASA internship at the Goddard Space Flight Center under the WFIRST mission (now known as the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope) and a three year position as a researcher in labs both at the university and at the Oak Ridge National Lab in Nuclear Astrophysics.

I have been at the L&N STEM Academy for four years teaching Physics, Astronomy, and STEM. This year, I will be teaching Honors Physics, AP Physics 1 (Algebra-based), Astronomy, and STEM 2 - Engineering. I have been a coach of the Science Olympiad team for the past three years and I am excited to coach another amazing team to State again this year. This year I will continue as the Idea Factory coordinator where we hope to introduce some new equipment and grow the program even more.
