What happened to You matters.
Grief is personal yet needs witnessing for healing. Unfortunately, the world does not stop to witness our pain and losses. Life still carries on while we grieve.
One step at a time...
In addition to grieving the loss of a loved one (a parent, a spouse, a child, a relative, or a colleague), we also grieve:
Losses of self, for example, through retirement, abortion, surgery, divorce, sexual abuse, physical illness.
The loss of a job, personal possessions, pets, a home.
Abstract losses such as of childhood, seasons of life, dreams, virility.
Developmental losses such as of fertility, hearing, mobility.
Other losses, for example, through divorce, miscarriage, war, geographical relocation, and separation.
