Learning Plan Assignment:
Each trainee receives a learning plan detailing required competencies based on the course package.
Competencies are linked to specific activities within the Learning Management System (LMS).
Synchronous Instruction with Instructors:
At the start of the course, trainees participate in a synchronous instruction session via Google Meet.
Instructors provide an overview, clarify expectations, and introduce key concepts.
Self-Learning Lessons:
Each competency corresponds to a self-learning lesson within the LMS.
Lessons include instructional materials (text, slides, videos, etc.).
Trainees must read/watch these materials and can message instructors for clarification.
Self-Learning Formative Assessment:
To ensure understanding, a non-graded self-learning formative assessment accompanies each lesson. This is a requirement before a trainee can proceed to the next lesson.
Trainees can check their comprehension and seek additional guidance if needed.
Practical Exercises and Assessment:
Once the theoretical aspect is completed:
Trainees can book face-to-face practical exercises and assessments through the LMS.
These sessions validate practical skills and reinforce theoretical knowledge.
The VMATC LMS (Learning Management System) is an online platform used by VMATC for managing and delivering educational courses and training programs.
The ODL approach at VMA Training Center allows trainees to complete their courses online using a structured learning plan, synchronous and asynchronous learning activities, and practical exercises and assessments.
Each trainee receives a learning plan that details the required competencies for their course. These competencies are linked to specific activities within the Learning Management System (LMS).
Competencies are associated with self-learning lessons, instructional materials, and formative assessments within the LMS. Trainees must complete these activities to progress through their course.
At the start of the course, trainees participate in a synchronous instruction session via Google Meet. Instructors provide an overview of the course, clarify expectations, and introduce key concepts.
Each competency corresponds to a self-learning lesson that includes instructional materials such as text, slides, and videos. Trainees are required to engage with these materials and can message instructors for clarification.
These are non-graded assessments accompanying each lesson to ensure understanding. Trainees must complete these assessments before proceeding to the next lesson.
After completing the theoretical components, trainees can book face-to-face practical exercises and assessments through the LMS. These sessions validate practical skills and reinforce theoretical knowledge.
Trainees attend a brief orientation session to learn about expectations, communication channels, and support mechanisms available during the online learning process.
Trainees must ensure a safe environment during online sessions. In an emergency, such as a medical issue or natural disaster, trainees should immediately notify the instructor or LMS administrator using designated communication channels.
Trainees must complete all asynchronous components, attend practical demonstrations, pass written assessments with a minimum grade of 70%, and demonstrate competence in practical assessments. All requirements must be fulfilled within one year from enrollment.
Trainees have access to technical support, instructional guidance, and a Facebook Messenger Group Chat for peer engagement and assistance. Contact information for phone and email support is provided during the orientation.
