Dimensions 4-6 (D4-D6)

Due to the range of opportunity for these Dimensions, video lessons will not necessarily be developed. For several aspects, students will have access to "Pop-Up" classes offered by VIDA, specific Electives, iStudio experiences, and Design Labs. In addition, where appropriate, students are always encouraged to seek additional expertise online or within the community with the assistance of a parent/guardian.

Students who have experiences with these Dimensions are encouraged to begin documenting their practice and growth over time.

Dimension 4: Technical Skills

Being well-versed in one or more technical skills that allow students a range of ways to communicate a need, engage in storytelling, develop an interface, create a technical solution to a problem, etc.
Due to the sophistication of these areas, neither pop-up classes nor videos will be offered for Dimension 4. VIDA offers many course opportunities where students can have in-depth study. In addition, where appropriate, students are always encouraged to seek additional expertise online or within the community with the assistance of a parent/guardian.
Technical Skills are divided into two areas, and students should master proficiency in at least one from each area:

Dimension 5: Materials

Being comfortable in the use of varying materials to design prototypes.
Pop-up classes will be available for some mediums. Some Design Lab classes focus specifically on these mediums. In addition, where appropriate, students are always encouraged to seek additional expertise online or within the community with the assistance of a parent/guardian.
Clay, Cardboard, Wood, Glass , Textiles (yarn/fabrics), Found Objects, Jewelry, Styrofoam, Stone, Wax, and more.

Dimension 6: Digital Fabrication

Being able to master CAD and fabrication of a prototype as measured by the following areas:

Upon demonstrating Mastery of Digital Fabrication, students will have access rights to 'The Bay' at VIDA which includes access to 3D printing for student use.
