Perkins Eastman was appointed in May 2018 to conduct a Facilities Review with the objective of preparing a long-range Master Plan for the development of the existing campus. This exercise considered our Vision, Mission and Values and needs of current and future learners. It looked at current space utilization, the space needed to support future programs and how the gaps between the two could be bridged through a phased redevelopment of the campus.
The Master Plan provides a conceptual framework (illustrated by design concepts) to guide future development and proposes 7 steps to transforming the campus, based on minimizing disruption rather than priority of need. The Board determined that, based on priority of need and access to funding, the first phase of development should be for facilities that support the performing arts and athletics programs and welcomes the community.
Upon looking at the existing space utilization, the architects determined that there was a disproportional use of space on sports and fitness facilities.
The new facilities will share the space more equitably so all programs will have what they need in order to provide a 21st century education.
