Prayers

“The arts give expression to the beauty of the faith and proclaim the Gospel message of the grandeur of God’s creation.

When we admire a work of art or a marvel of nature, we discover how everything speaks to us of Him and of His love:

That artists of our time, though their creativity, may help us discover the beauty of creation.”

Pope Francis, Prayer Intention for Artists, August 2017.

Artists have a unique gift to present eternal truths in a way that enlivens the senses. Let us pray that artists use their gifts for God’s glory.

Heavenly Father, your works are beyond compare. The loveliness of the stars, the myriad of creatures that walk the earth, all give you honor, and shine with your radiant beauty. May artists, musicians, and authors follow in your example. May their work give you honor, and inspire the hearts of all to do the same! Amen.
