Visitation Fine Arts Program

Yet, O LORD, you are our father; we are the clay and you the potter; we are all the work of your hands. - Isaiah 64:7

Welcome to the Fine Arts page for Visitation BVM School. The goals of the art program are to teach the children art history, develop artistic inspiration from famous artists, learn to use different mediums, and to learn basic drawing and painting techniques. Through creativity and the process of observation the Visitation Fine Arts Program teaches students to more intensely observe and analyze the world. Thus giving them the skills that build the foundation of critical thinking. Most importantly, my goals are to instill creativity, challenge students to 'think outside the box,' inspire, have fun, and to be proud of our creations within a positive environment. The art classroom was updated in 2024 with brand new desks, chairs, two new sinks, and a couple other details that make the space perfect for artists. Students have done a wonderful job doing their part to keep the room looking great.

There are two major art events this year. The first is the art show that will happen at the end of January. This event is apart of Catholic Schools Week. Each student will have two artworks displayed in the gym. The photo on this page is from a previous Visi art show. Please come join us during the event! Dates and times for the show will be updated on the school calendar and in emails. I will also be seeking parent and student volunteers to set up the event. This is a great opportunity for 7th graders to earn service hours. The second event is the Square One Art fundraiser which will occur in the spring. A project is made in class and turned into free stickers. It is optional to purchase the art printed on other items. This includes but not limited to mugs, blankets, necklaces, and school supplies. A portion of the purchase will benefit the school. Feel free to explore the Square One Art website listed below and to email me questions about events, class, or projects.
