Including but not limited to…
Geography and climate influences
Colonial Developments
American Independence
Historical Development of the Constitution
The Constitution in Practice
Westward Expansion
Students will use a folder to keep papers in. All loose papers must be kept in a folder. Please make sure the student’s name and the subject is written on the front. Students will each receive a number and they should put their number on the front as well. (Their name and number should be written on everything).
One notebook for all written work (note taking, writing, vocabulary). This notebook will be shared with the ELA notebook. (ELA will start in the front of the notebook and Social Studies will start from the back of the notebook.)
Social Studies textbook: e-books (downloaded on computer)
From Houghton Mifflin Harcourt | Ed
Students will also receive module workbook packets from me. Again, these need to be kept in the student’s folder. Students will receive one packet only and they are responsible for that packet. If they lose their packet, they will be responsible to make their own copy from a friend’s packet. Students need to keep these packets to study from for the end of year exams.
Projects:
When we start a new module (unit) in Social Studies, students will be given a project to work on. These projects will be graded as well. All projects will be given a rubric for Grading.
