*We work very hard in 1A learning how to read, write, do math and learn about our faith. One of my favorite "EXTRAS" is to teach my students the Italian language. They learn simple prayers, songs, color words, number words, etc. I have always believed that a foreign language should be taught at a young age. It's my hope that exposing the children to another language will help them to become more aware of our world. We all SMILE in the same language! Not to mention...it's a great way to get their attention! Always remember: A language isn't foreign once you learn it! 

*During the school year and summers I regularly attend various educational workshops to stay current with educational progressions. 

**Although I am able to relax more during the summer I still work a full time and a part time job...during the summer of 2012, I was able to travel to "Bella Italia" as a chaperone with a small group of teenagers from PA & NY for an Italian organization called EFASCE. The program needed an Italian speaking chaperone and since I can speak the Italian language...I was invited to participate. We traveled around the Friuli region(near Venice)of Italy visiting Pordenone, Aquileia, Grado, Venice, Trieste, Udine, Maniago, Poffabro, a mosaic school in Spilimbergo, The Vajont Dam and other smaller hamlets. We were at the foothills of the Dolomites...GORGEOUS area! My family is from the Abruzzo region of Italy and I had never been that far north. It was a wonderful experience! Learning another language can be beneficial in so many ways...it can even get you a free trip to Italy!!!

**Every summer I take several professional development workshops. Tutoring is always a great way to stay connected to our Visi kids & families during the summer!  

**Summer 2013... Work, work, work...a little fun...work, work, work!! no trip to my "Bella Italia" this summer! That's ok...there's ALWAYS next summer!
