Fitness classes

All fitness activities could involve potential physical risks. VISIONS requires a signed Hold Harmless Agreement form prior to participating in any fitness class/workshop. All forms are available in the main office. Facilitator will not allow any student to participate in any fitness class until a completed Hold Harmless Agreement Form is submitted to our office.

SHAPE UP NYC

Shape Up NYC is a free, drop-in fitness program. There is no class registration, simply show up to take the fitness class. We offer Total Body Tone with Stephen Fagen. This workout is aimed to tone muscles, increase your energy, mobility and overall fitness level, using fun and different workout styles. Join us every Monday night from 6pm to 7pm. Location: Auditorium (On hold until further notice)

Chair Yoga with Standing Poses-This class is ideal for seniors, beginners as well as experienced students. Breath work, postures, relaxation and meditation will be explored. The class will incorporate seated and standing postures and variations will be offered. Feel free to bring your own mat. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Women’s Fitness-Group instruction to increase fitness and strength for women. Classes will make use of both stretching and free weights, this includes use of the cardio equipment.

Pilates -Come join this class if you are into moving a lot. This class provides low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements.

Evening Zumba -Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba ® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to- follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ that’s moving millions of people. Zumba incorporates several dance styles, including Cumbia, Merengue, salsa, Reggaeton, Mambo, Rumba, Flamenco and calypso and Salsaton. The Latin music includes both fast and slow rhythms, allowing for a great cardio workout as well as body sculpting exercises.

Hula Hoop/ Hatha Yoga- Learn different ways to exercise with hula hoops and different tricks you can do with them. Also come to learn about a yoga system of physical exercises and breathing control.

Shotokan Karate - Learn the way of the empty hand and learn about this Okinawan martial art. In this class we drill Shotokan Karate forms and go over different striking techniques.
