Children/Youth Ministry

The Mission

We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born…then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. (Psalm 78.4-7)

About Children's Ministry

Children’s Ministry (CM) at VCF exists because we believe that children, even from a very young age, can and should come to know and experience the power and wonder of God. It is our desire that children who grow up in VCF develop a genuine and living relationship with God. They needn’t be overwhelmed by the powers, sin and pressure of the world in order to know His redemptive power. It is our desire to teach and support them to be ones who can hear from God, pray and obey Him, even in extremely difficult situations and when under pressure. The fruit of this living relationship with God will be displayed in their daily lives and interactions with others.

The freedom and desire to worship God is part of our hope for all children who participate in Children’s Ministry. We believe that through worship, God comes, breaks through and heals children beyond their own experience, language and understanding. In this way, children have access to the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit just like an adult. We believe that God is the one who reaches out to the children, capturing their hearts and imaginations and calling out worship from within them.

Finally, we believe that all children can learn to hear and experience God’s presence daily through a normal devotional life. Psalm 86:7 says “For in the day of trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.” Everything we do in children’s ministry at VCF is to train children to have a relationship with a loving and present God so that when they find themselves in challenging and difficult situations, their first instincts will be to call out to the living God, find safety and peace in His presence and be able to discern his voice and leading.

About Youth Ministry

We welcome all students between grades 6-12. Our curriculum is designed to train, mentor and disciple both junior high and high school youth. We also plan fun/recreational activities on a monthly basis. We are committed to raising up youth to see the amazing works of God in their lives and experiencing God's deep love for them.
