Social Justice
Our social justice issue that we are focusing on is housing inequality for this semester in PBL and this is basically an unfair issue for low income families when it comes to buying good quality houses for there extreme prices. This issue is locally connected because high housing prices make it harder for many families to afford safe homes and causes financial stress.
Growth
I feel that I can make many improvements on pitch v1 because after going through it and comparing it with the pitch v2, a lot of research and information was missed out causing my grade for the first pitch to be low compared to the second pitch. The timeline was also not done correctly but afterwards I made some adjustment because the original version wasn't based off the scheme of work.
Compared to the other projects completed after this assignment, I improved on putting my knowledge from the research process onto a pitch. I have shown this on my magazine outline assignment where I gathered the articles I founded and put them onto the magazine.
Crucial improvements in PBL class can be made such as being more focused in class. Because sometimes I feel like I get distracted by my surroundings easily which causes me to be off task.
SDG Collage
For this assignment me and my peers tried our best recreate a much more fancy version of the sdg logo into a collage. We used paper drawings we made and teared magazine pages to represent as trash, finally we used thicker boards to show that 3D feeling to this collage.
Currency Redesign
This is the currency redesign project, where we re-made the 1000ntd bill into a theme where it fits more into Taiwanese culture instead of authorities on the bills.
Mood Board
The mood was made to show social justice through color, design, and pictures showing that good quality houses have a great varitey we just need them to lower the prices for all those low income families.
Project Pitches v1
This assignment is where we create a presentation and pitch out our idea for the first time to the teachers so they can give us feedback and better understand our topics / goals instead of asking group by group.
Project Pitches v2
This is the second pitch that we created in class with corrected mistakes from the last pitch. This is pitch is important because it sets a starting point for our PBL final project. During this pitch we also changed our topic to something much better since we realized that the last idea didn't work.
Logo Design
This is the logo design activity that we completed during class time, the goal is to complete 50 drawings of logo thumbnails then pick out 1 drawing that stands out in all the 50. This logo we drew are logos where it would onto a T-shirt that we'd wear during exhibition showing which team we are and what our group does.
Brand kit
This assignment wants us to create a brand kit for your magazine based on our mood board and presentation feedback. It includes three rough logo sketches, a typography system with three different fonts, a color palette with HEX codes, and mood visuals like photos, artwork, or textures.
This is our PBL group's logo design about our topic "Housing Injustice". This logo consists a person holding a heart inside the house. Representing everyone should have the right to own an affordable safe house to live in.
In our group we shared roles, two of my group mates worked on this logo design mostly and our job as the other roles we only had to chose this design out of 5 other.
The Second photo shows the improved version of the logo which has the heart filled in with one color instead of a pattern.
This is the draft magazine we completed as a group throughout the semester. I contributed on the Root cause and the affected page as one of the writers in this group. For these sections, I helped research information, organize key ideas, and write about how housing inequality in Taipei affects lower-income families and individuals.
This is the feedback that connects to our draft that the teacher gave us on what we wrote. it states that "the draft shows clear and meaningful improvement from Draft 1. The group responded to several major feedback points: the page focus is clearer, the affected group is now more specifically identified as lower-income families and individuals." We took in this feedback and made more adjustments on the future drafts making it into the product we show during exhibitions.
These are the drafts that we completed throughout the semester. We completed 3 drafts but we changed the name for draft 1 to draft 2 since we didn't want to open so many docs and it would also be more convinient for the teachers to grade.
