During your afternoon at the Prater you will explore the park and try some attractions. We would like you to write a Trip Advisor style review of your best or worst attraction at the park and post it (with a photo) on the Padlet attached. One review per person (50-80 words).
You should already have some base knowledge of the Habsburg family and Schönbrunn from your pre-trip activities. During your guided grand tour of the palace and gardens, you will learn about the rich history of the palace and its inhabitants.
During your tour, take photos in your groups and by the end of the tour share 3 photos in the chat with the rest of the group of:
something beautiful or ugly
something / somewhere which provoked an emotional reaction in you (e.g. happiness / sadness / disgust / shock / humour....)
someone's portrait / painting / statue that you have recreated (aka: The Mannequin Challenge)
Send the photo with a comment, justifying your choice, to the group chat. The best photo in each category will win a prize for their group!
Mannequin Challenge
Something Beautiful
Something Sad (forgotten and neglected)
Something that provoked an emotion of being lost (in a strange land) but found again (in the company of friends)
Complete your self-designed audio tours of Vienna in your groups.....and then add a little more..... Your goal is to take a series of photos that tells a narrative—much like a comic book but without the words. At each stop on your tour, take a photo posing as the characters and with each stop being a new development in the story.
Think like a director and figure out how to tell a story through images. And just like a real auteur, try unique angles to convey different emotions (romance, fear, humour....it's your unique story to tell!)
Upload the photos into your map after your tour. Alternatively, you can make a video and add music or make a storyboard....
In your groups, we thought it would be a nice idea that you compile your observations of Life in Graz in a digital mini-magazine (using a platform like CANVA, for example) including:
Photos of your host families, where you are living whilst in Graz and key sites in the city
Some comments on your overall experience / curiosities and things that impressed / surprised / interested you about Graz, the family and the school.
A short interview with your Austrian partner about what life is like for someone their age in Graz. The interview should be audio/video and embedded in the magazine.
Divide the tasks between your group members evenly.
