(2020 Summer)
The lectures were always exceptionally clear and I found that I understood the material very well after watching them. Anything I needed further clarification on I was able to receive very lucid explanations of in office hours. I went from knowing very little to having what I feel is a solid background in macro economics.
Instructor Kang did an excellent job. It's really an understatement to say that right now we are living in basically totally uncharted macroeconomic territory and what I learned in this class has allowed me to be able to begin to understand what's going on and to be conversant with the evidence and theories being discussed by macroeconomists. Instructor Kang clearly prepared very diligently for every lecture in this class and her future students will profit a lot by her sincere efforts to share her knowledge as much or even more than we did.
Professor Kang was a kind and respectful teacher who encouraged us to reach out with questions, concerns, or learning difficulties and I felt accepted in my role as a student in her class.
The explanations of the models and concepts were exceptionally lucid and the use of concrete examples usually always helped me to make sense of things. I think all of that was executed extremely effectively! I really enjoyed any moments when the concepts of the class were tied to current events in the lecture and I would definitely include as much of that kind of thing as possible in the future as it really helps you to understand what is going on and why this is important.
(2022 Fall, 2023 Spring)
Soo was so helpful during office hours and really helped us understand how different things connected.
Office hours are A+
The videos paired with office hours and working on assignments with my peers helped improve my understanding of the course. Soo was extremely helful in office hours and once I committed to watching the videos the assignments were really interesting.
Both Soo and Professor Leeper reached out to me when they noticed that I was falling behind and struggling, which I really appreciated.

This was a very well organized discussion section and I think it should be a model for how to run a Money and Banking discussion
I think TA Kang is a passionate individual who always willing to talk for extra time if any students need help.
Soo's discussion was so effective for my learning that I made it a point not to miss her discussion. Soo was able to condense things into ways that were really easy to understand, and she went above and beyond with providing us with practice problems that also served as great practice for exams. I am really happy that Soo was my TA.
Soo is probably the nicest TA I've ever had and was incredibly welcoming to everyone in the class.
I don't think that she could have been a better TA, she was really that great.
The time spent in discussion section with Soo Kang and the problems that she prepared to complete during section greatly contributed to my learning.
Soo has been the most knowledgeable and helpful TA I have ever learned from and was always extremely engaged with the discussion and material and explained it slowly and methodically. I believe that having an 8 pm discussion was setting up for failure, but she did an amazing job working with the people that showed up and always being passionate and careful about teaching the material.
I had a very nice experience in terms of learning with the TA. She let me understand a lot of confusing topics for me.
This TA was incredibly helpful and knowledgable on the course. I honestly don't know how she had such a deep understanding of a confusing topic! She made sure to upload answer keys and extra explanations after each discussion and managed her time very well during discussion. I even saw her outside of class a few times and she always said hello.
