Leadership and in Media

  • President, Graduate Economics Club (GEC), University of Virginia, 2018-19.

I have been elected member of Graduate Economics Club (GEC) for two years and then became the president to lead the club. Within my tenure as a president, we have organized a number of research collaboration meetings, in which students presented their research work among graduate students to get feedback, it immensely helped students, before presenting it in other forums. I have started ‘happy hours’ in the department, an informal meeting between students and faculty members outside the classrooms, where students were able to talk freely about different issues they are facing in the graduate life. With the help of the chair of the department, I was also able to raise the allocated fund/budget for the club from the department to help the club run smoothly in the future. I also tried my best to represent the needs of all international graduate students in the department.
