C.O.R.E is designed as a forward-thinking, sustainable environment that supports both its residents and the surrounding community. Sustainability drives the architectural form, shaping both performance and identity. The sweeping roof integrates flexible photovoltaic shingles that adapt to its curvature, generating renewable energy without compromising design intent. Paired with intensive green roof systems, the building reduces heat gain, improves insulation, and creates restorative biophilic spaces. Together, these systems transform the roof into an active environmental layer that produces energy, manages climate, and supports occupant well-being.
"Turning Point" is a dedicated youth transition center designed to guide individuals through the pivotal journey from youth to adulthood. The project's formal language is rooted in the geometry of a star, a universal symbol of guidance, hope, and direction. Beyond mere aesthetics, the radial design functions as a physical manifestation of support. A central communal court acts as the heart of the project, fostering a sense of belonging. At the same time, the extending "arms" provide a clear programmatic balance between private growth and collective interaction. By integrating a vibrant public plaza, recreational courts, and intimate seating nooks, "Turning Point" moves away from the clinical feel of traditional institutions, offering instead a sanctuary that inspires stability and personal evolution.

Our program was contacted by The Beehive of Huntingburg to see if we would be able to make door signs for all their residence. Darby working outside of class to help create a design, gather materials, cut out and assembly 21 door signs. This project lasted multiple weeks and Darby spent numerous outside of their course and work schedule to make sure this project was complete.

Architecture has a more important role in influencing public health outcomes now
than ever before, as fair access to healthcare is still a national concern, particularly in
rural America. This building is a social,
spatial, and sustainable response to rural communities' persistent health inequalities; it
is more than just a building.
During the Fall 2024 semester as part of our design course students were challenged with redesigning the lab spaces we use as well as the common areas around the building. Their instructions were to make mainly cosmetic changes that included revamping the fixed features and adding in new finishes. During this project we discussed spacial layouts and meeting the needs of the user. They then modeled the structure referencing outdated blueprints and then making corrections, collected material samples, and rendered the structure in Twinmotion. This project was then presented to the first year students.
During the Spring 2023 semester one of the second year students entered the CCCAP Student Design Competition. This competition presents students with a project brief outlining a specific need for a structure in a predetermined location. The brief then goes on to explain room use needs, sizes, and any constraints the structure might have. Students then take all that information and create a structure. The Spring 2023 brief outlines a community center with individual learning spaces, outdoor spaces, a presentation room, library space and more. This building design was create by an individual student who then created the model seen below. This was done using matte board, foam core, acrylic, paper, and other modeling materials.
