Class Information

 Tuesday Folder/Agenda

Students will bring home the Dixie Bee Tuesday Folder every Tuesday.  Inside the folder each week will be any important papers from Dixie Bee or the VCSC and completed/graded assignments,  Folders should be signed an returned the next day along with any of the important “Return to School” side papers.

Students will have an agenda that goes home each and every day.  Written inside of it each day will be any homework assignments, current skills we are working on in the subject areas, and any upcoming events happening in class or at Dixie Bee.  This is a great tool to help keep students organized and to help them budget their time independently.  I encourage families to help students to write events like weekly sporting events, trips, etc. inside the agenda to help them even more with their time management skills.

Homework

Students may have a variety of homework throughout the school year.  Homework will mainly consist of items that were NOT completed in class during the school day.

Spelling packets will go home on Monday each week and are due Friday.  The can be turned in prior to the due date.  Weekly spelling lists can also be found on Canvas in the Reading Couse.  Unit and Week that we are currently in should ALWAYS be written in their agenda on the first of the week.

Occasionally students may have a project to work on at home as well.  Some examples commonly done in the past are:

Students will receive adequate time to complete every assignment with expectations discussed in detail.

Snack and Water Bottles

Students should bring a water bottle daily to school.  Donations of gallon water jugs are always appreciated for students to refill as needed.  Our classroom is far away from a water fountain so this makes it more convenient and helps reduce germ spreading.

Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack daily.  Donations of allergy friendly/healthier option snacks are always appreciated.

Birthday/Health Policy

Due to the corporation’s health policy, we like to stay away from cupcakes and go with healthier snack options for birthday celebrations. Items must be store bought and *preferably* individually wrapped for easy distribution.   Some healthy option ideas include:

Please contact me BEFORE your child’s birthday if you are wanting to send something in.   We have many food allergies so I need to make sure there are options for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding.
