Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Nu Alpha Zeta Chapter of Hickory, NC has been aiming to increase the success rate of local college bound African American females by easing their financial burden since 2008.
In April of 2013, Mrs. Catherine S. Tucker, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., passed away. Mrs. Tucker was a charter member of the Nu Alpha Zeta Chapter. In her honor, the chapter voted unanimously that our scholarship be given annually in her name. With the blessing of her family, the newly named scholarship was given for the first time in November 2013.
Mrs. Tucker was a well-respected educator and community leader in Catawba County and surrounding communities in North Carolina. She always exemplified the essence of Finer Womanhood and the other founding principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship, Service, and Sisterhood.
Nu Alpha Zeta is elated to announce that in the Summer of 2022, the chapter voted unanimously to add an additional scholarship for high school seniors attending a NC Community College. Making a total of 3 scholarship opportunities for young ladies.
