PRIVACY POLICY FOR ZIPSTER

Zipster is developed by MD Developer Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what Zipster does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

THE SHORT VERSION

Zipster works on the files already on your phone. Those files never leave your device. We do not run any servers, we have no account system, and we cannot see your files, your filenames, or what you do with them.

The one exception is advertising. Zipster shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google collects data to do that. That is described in full below.

WHAT ZIPSTER DOES NOT COLLECT

We want to be specific, because "we value your privacy" means nothing on its own. Zipster does not:

• Upload, copy, scan, index or transmit your files or their contents

• Send us your filenames, folder names, or archive contents

• Require an account, an email address, or a sign-in of any kind

• Contain analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage tracking of any kind

• Collect your name, address, phone number, contacts, photos, calendar, location, or microphone or camera input

• Sell or share personal information with data brokers

We do not operate a server that your app talks to. There is no database with your name in it, because there is no database.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Some information is stored on your phone so the app can work. It is never transmitted anywhere.

Archive passwords you choose to save — kept in the Android Keystore, encrypted by the operating system, so a protected archive opens without retyping.

Your settings (language, theme, extract folder, retention) — kept in app preferences on the device, so the app behaves the way you set it.

Recycle bin contents — kept in a folder inside the app's own storage, so a deletion can be undone.

Your app rating — kept in app preferences on the device, so you are not asked twice.

Deleting the app removes all of it. We cannot recover any of it for you, because we never had it.

A note on saved passwords: these are held in the Android Keystore, which encrypts them with a key the app cannot export and other apps cannot read. They are never uploaded, never backed up to a cloud, and never visible to us.

ADVERTISING

Zipster is free and is paid for by advertising. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

To show ads, Google may collect and process:

• Your device's advertising identifier (a resettable ID, not tied to your name)

• IP address, and an approximate location derived from it

• Device information — model, operating system version, language, screen size

• Ad interaction data — which ads were shown, viewed or tapped

We do not receive any of this in an identifiable form. We see aggregate reporting only: how many ads were shown and what they earned.

YOUR CHOICES ABOUT ADS

Reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings > Privacy > Ads on your Android device.

Opt out of personalised ads in the same place. Zipster will still show ads, but they will not be based on your profile.

Remove ads entirely by buying Zipster Premium. Every ad slot disappears immediately and permanently.

IF YOU ARE IN THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA, THE UK, OR SWITZERLAND

Before any ad is requested, Zipster asks for your consent using Google's consent management platform. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy inside the app. Where you decline, ads are limited to non-personalised advertising.

PERMISSIONS, AND WHY EACH ONE IS NEEDED

Zipster asks for a small number of permissions. Each is used only for the purpose described here.

All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

This is the central one. An archive tool has to open archives wherever they already are — usually your Downloads folder — and extract next to them. Android provides no narrower permission that allows this. Zipster reads and writes only the files and folders you act on. It does not scan or index your storage for any purpose other than showing you your own archives when you ask it to.

Notifications

To show progress while a job runs, and to let you cancel it from the notification shade. Requested at the moment of first use, not on launch.

Foreground service

So an extraction or compression keeps running when you switch away from the app. Without it, Android would kill a long job the moment you left.

Install unknown apps (REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES)

Only used if you choose to install an APK found inside an archive. Zipster never installs anything itself — it hands the file to Android's own installer, which shows you the app's name, permissions and signature first.

Advertising ID (AD_ID)

Used only by Google AdMob, as described above.

CHILDREN

Zipster is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will delete anything we hold — though in practice we hold nothing.

YOUR RIGHTS

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any system we control, there is no account to access, correct, export or delete. The data that exists is on your own device and under your control:

Access and deletion: uninstalling Zipster removes everything it stored.

Saved passwords: clear them at any time in Settings > Saved passwords.

Advertising data: handled through Google's controls, linked above.

If you are in the EEA or UK, the legal basis for processing advertising data is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

DATA TRANSFERS

We transfer nothing. Google may process advertising data on servers outside your country, under the safeguards described in Google's own privacy policy.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the effective date at the top and, where the change is significant, note it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Zipster after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Encrypted vault

Zipster Premium includes an encrypted vault. Files you move into it are

re-encrypted with AES-256 and stored in the app's private internal storage,

where no other app on the device can read them and where Android's media

scanner never looks.

The vault passphrase is chosen by you and is never stored, transmitted or

recoverable. We cannot open your vault, and neither can anyone else without

the passphrase. If you forget it, the contents cannot be recovered by any

means.

File contents are encrypted. File names are not, because a ZIP archive keeps

its index unencrypted. Reading those names would require root access to your

phone; the contents remain encrypted regardless.

Nothing in the vault is uploaded, synced or shared. Android backup and

device-to-device transfer are both disabled for this app, so the vault never

leaves your phone by any route you did not choose.
