UC Irvine; Fall 2024-Spring 2026
As AMS president, I have worked to enhance the social and professional development of the graduate students and VAPs in the UCI Math Department. Some initiatives I have worked on include:
Orientation and welcome events for the incoming graduate student cohort.
Student/faculty mixer to generate potential advisor/student relationships.
Introductory talks by VAPs to graduate students.
UC Irvine; Spring 2024-Spring 2025
Served an advisory role to DECADE leadership, faculty mentors, equity advisors, and the Graduate Dean’s Diversity
Council. Also helped plan and organize DECADE programing and events, with the purpose of fostering an equitable and warm climate for all UCI graduate students. Some events and initiatives I worked on are:
Social events for the Mathematics department.
Qual review sessions, study groups, and general support for students.
Enhanced communication between the graduate student body, faculty, and administration in the Math department.
UC Irvine; Fall 2024-Spring 2025
The DEI Graduate Leaders Fellowship provides funding to graduate students who have a passion for and
commitment to improving inclusion efforts within their department. Some events and initiatives I worked on are:
Social events for the School of Physical Sciences.
Organized and hosted Math Department Tea Time.
Collaboration and communication between the School and associated academic clubs.
Worked to help support students and faculty through changes to federal policies.
UC Irvine; Fall 2023-Spring 2024
I helped plan, organize, and run AWM events for the UCI Math Department. These included social and professional development events.
Cal Poly SLO; Fall 2019-Spring 2022
Worked as the University Housing Representative, then the Drag Club representative, to the Queer and Trans Leadership Council. Coordinated events between queer and trans student organizations, advised the university on policies affecting queer and trans students, and planned future directions for queer and trans activism on campus.
Cal Poly SLO; Fall 2020-Spring 2021
Advised the Mathematics Department on curriculum changes, particularly pertaining to graduate courses and courses
taught by graduate students.
