Exotic Animal Welfare - Dr. Ernesto Dominguez

The lecture will address welfare issues in aquatic species, zoo and exotic animals, exotic companion mammals, reptiles and amphibians, and wildlife. A strong emphasis is placed on species-specific considerations, applicable legal frameworks, and recognizing cruelty across diverse settings. This lecture will help you have a better understanding of animal welfare investigations, regulatory or legal cases, when handling cruelty cases across a wide range of species.
Wildlife Critical Care - Dr. Nicki Rosenhagen

Scimitar Oryx Reintroduction in Chad - Dr. Julie Swenson

The reintroduction of Scimitar Oryx in Chad is one of the most astounding and successful conservation stories in history. Declared completely extinct in the wild in 2000, there are now about 600 oryx roaming wild in Chad thanks to the immense efforts of many conservation organizations, including Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Learn how Fossil Rim played a pivotal role in the survival of this species from one of the leading veterinarians in this project.
