THE 6 SHAOLIN VIRTUES
RESPECT • FOCUS • PERSEVERANCE • STRIVE • COMPASSION • LEADERSHIP
With ongoing training and development of the Instructors of ZenCamp, we aim to bring a 1,500+ year-old tradition of authentic Shaolin Martial Zen to the Niagara Region. Through this effort, ZenCamp stays rooted in tradition, authenticity, and community-centredness.
ZenCamp will operate as a nonprofit organization, rooted in integrity, accountability, transparency. ZenCamp is a grassroots, community-based movement. Our pricing model aims to reflect the quality and value of instruction, while offering flexible pathways for those for whom finances are a barrier to being included in these practices.
ZenCamp will host classes and events that enhance physical, emotional, and community well-being. We aim to build a network of like-minded people and organizations to better the experience of our shared community. Our culture is rooted in the Six Shaolin Virtues: Respect, Strive, Focus, Perseverance, Compassion, & Leadership.
The long-term dream is to acquire forested land near Niagara and build a year-round retreat space + homebase for martial arts, creative gatherings, community events, bonfires, and rewilding skills. Think: Shaolin monastery meets all-season summer camp meets healing gardens. A sanctuary rooted in authentic instruction, restoration, and reconnection with self and nature.
