Professional Experience:
I am uniquely positioned to bring a fresh perspective to the school board. I spent 30 years as a counselor at Stanwood Middle School in the Stanwood-Camano School District. During that time, I worked with hundreds of families and thousands of students. I supported kids in crisis and listened to those who simply needed someone to talk to. I understand parents’ struggles and the challenges families face today.
Education:
Master of Social Work, University of Washington. Bachelor of Science, Speech Pathology and Audiology, University of Washington (with two years at WSU!).
Community Service:
My wife, Joyce, and I have a blended family of 5 children and 8 grandchildren. When I’m not spending time with grandkids, I volunteer at Twin City Elementary and The Caring Place, manage the Davis Carlson Message Board for the Community Resource Center of Stanwood-Camano, and volunteer with Stanwood Middle School PTO.
