Ogrodoot v1.1
Ogrodoot v1.1 represents the latest iteration of Mars rover design developed by Team Ogrodoot, the Mars Rover team from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), under my technical leadership for the International Rover Design Challenge 2023. The rover's architecture incorporates an innovative mother-daughter multi-robot system, enabling shared visual reconnaissance to enhance exploratory capabilities.
Furthermore, Meta's Segment Anything Model (SAM) was utilized to segment uncharted Martian terrain from both 2D images and the 2D projections of 3D point clouds. This approach demonstrated significant efficacy, earning recognition as a finalist and achieving the 11th position in a global competition.
The initial suspension test of our Mars rover prototype, Ogrodoot, developed for the International Rover Design Challenge (IRDC) 2021, marked a critical milestone in the project's development. Following this test, significant modifications were implemented to enhance the performance of the rover's wheel design. This project posed considerable challenges, as it coincided with the pressures of simultaneous laboratory finals and end-of-semester examinations, making it one of the most demanding endeavors undertaken by our team this year.
