Hi! My name is Mr. Short. I am a Professional School Counselor, incredibly excited to work in an innovative and inclusive educational system that puts excellence at the forefront.
I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for my undergraduate, where I was able to obtain my Bachelor's in Philosophy with a concentration in Mathematics & Pedagogies. And I am about to obtain my CACREP-accredited Master's in Counseling in Educational Settings from Rowan University!
Through my academic experiences, I have had the opportunity to take on a number of exceptional educational roles including: Resident Director of an international-student dormitory, GED Tutor for a private state-prison, and TEFL Instructor for a primary school in Beijing.
But ultimately, my passion has always been in the therapeutic endeavors of school counseling. From early childhood and elementary programs all the way to higher education facilities, I have had the amazing experience to develop holistic, support programs attuned to students' development and academic needs. And I am always seeking to gain more experience.
And through my research experiences and independent studies, I have sought to develop alternative, intervention methods for addressing trauma in K-12 populations. It would be amazing to further explore the positive-growth opportunities associated with adversity!
