I am originally from Folsom, California where I grew up visiting the Sierra and National Parks regularly, leading to my majoring in Earth System Science as an undergraduate at UC Merced.
At UC Merced I was actively involved in environmental associations working as both a Yosemite National Parks rangers at our university Wilderness Education Center during my Junior and Senior year, but I was also the founding president of the Natural Resource and Ecological Association at UC Merced which aimed at providing professional opportunities, such as working with the USDA, USFWS, and UC reserve systems, to undergraduates interested in ecology.
My many experiences in the Sierra Nevada ranging from hiking, to working in Yosemite's Education Division, to researching pine tree ecophysiology, have pushed to me continue to research and engage with the beautiful mountain range nearby and attending UC Merced for my PhD journey.
