My name is Zach Tallevast. I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. I've spent the last 4 years in Columbia, Missouri for school and the past year beginning my career in Kansas City and St. Louis.
I went to the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. I finished my undergraduate education in May 2018 and graduated with a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Statistics. I completed two internships during my education at Vanliner Insurance and The Sprint Corporation.
I co-founded Mizzou's first intercollegiate varsity bowling team named Mizzou Bowling. As the competition vice president, I facilitated the team each season from tryouts through end of season logistically, financially, and as a recreational sport.
I was also a charter member of my fraternity Gamma Iota Sigma, where along with 12 founders we created a new campus risk management and insurance fraternity consisting of 75 members of the finance, risk management, and actuarial science/mathematics fields.
During this time, I worked heavily with the Special Olympics of Missouri as a volunteer, coach, and representative. In the summer of 2018, I was delegated as the State of Missouri's Special Olympics Bowling Coach which I attended the Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Washington. For the summer of 2022, I have been selected as the State of Missouri's Special Olympics Bowling Unified Partner in Orlando, Florida.

As of August 2018, I previously developed Tableau dashboards and completed statistical analysis for the Washington University School of Medicine's large research effort. I worked with the Research Analytics team in Research Administration. Some of my duties included working with matriculation modeling for student applications, engaging new grant opportunities using descriptive analytics, and web-scraping University Rankings.
Location: Overland Park, KS
This was my first data science position. With this position I worked in billing where I was tasked to work with a data team to produce a machine learning model to forecast billing issues prior to the customer bills inception. In this position I learned how to use R-Studio in conjunction with SQL Server for large data consumption. This project intended to save Sprint nearly $6 million in its first year of implementation. Additionally, I worked with a separate team on a Natural Language Processing project on survey free-form responses. This project helped Sprint discover inefficiencies in the Billing Estimation customer survey as well as uncover customer sentiment.
Location: Southwest Region (Remote)
From 2017-2018, I was a collegiate baseball scout in the Midwest. My reports were collected and distributed to 2 major league affiliates before the 2018 amateur draft.
Location: Fenton, MO
This experience was my first internship in college. During this internship, I performed data analyst duties for a predictive analytics team of underwriters. I mastered Microsoft SQL query tool. For my intern project, I created a new niche captive program that saw implementation in early 2018. Additionally, I created a predictive customer health analytics tool to better serve premium and loss forecasting. This experience was my first taste of big data.
I thoroughly enjoy learning and sifting through data. Online education and the evolution of data science has made the past few years tremendously beneficial and exciting. In my free time, I've worked with extensive Major League Baseball data where I attempt to define new metrics and evaluation techniques unseen to the sport. I also produce power rankings and annual player projections that were very accurate in 2018 and 2019.
I like fishing, slow pitch softball, bowling, football, and spending time with my friends and family. My most interesting facts are that I have bowled a 300 game, climbed 8 mountains, and completed a 60 mile canoe trip in a week.
