After returning home from Papua New Guinea, I spent six months devoted to work and prayer, seeking the Lord’s guidance for the next step in my life. In that time, God opened the door for me to go to Switzerland and study the Bible with YWAM Lausanne.

Once I had saved enough money, I set off for Switzerland! During the school, we read and studied the entire Bible over the course of three months. As we studied, we also traveled to Greece, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, and Italy, places where many biblical events took place or where parts of the Bible were written.

We focused on understanding the historical and cultural context of the Bible, learning about its original audience and how they would have read and understood the scriptures. One of the key lessons was this: the Bible wasn’t written to us, but it was written for us.
