Bio
I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Ankara Science University and a part-time instructor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University. I received B.B.A degree from the Department of Business Administration at Hacettepe University where I was introduced to Operations Research and captivated by Network Optimization. I followed my passion and received my Master's degree in the Department of Industrial Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara, in 2013 along with a full scholarship. And, I received my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Miami in August 2020.
While pursuing my master's and doctoral degrees, I attended several international conferences and annual meetings, such as EWGLA, EURO, INFORMS, and IISE. One of my conference papers received the third-place award in the Best Student Paper Competition organized by the Supply Chain and Logistics division at the IISE 2018 Annual Meeting and Expo. I was selected for the runner-up award in the field of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the First Annual Graduate & Postdoctoral Research Symposium at the University of Miami (including a monetary prize), I also qualified to participate in the Statewide Graduate Research Symposium at the 2019 Conference of Florida Graduate Schools. Besides, I received the Industrial Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Research in 2020 while working as a research assistant at the University of Miami.
My research interests broadly lie in supply chain management and logistics, more particularly resilience transportation network design for social and humanitarian purposes as well as business purposes, facility (hub) location, hub network design, and service network design (routing and scheduling of assets such as aircraft, truck, container, etc.) in specific terms.
