This week marked our final lecture, where we focused on importing our sculpted faces into Unreal Engine. I successfully imported the face and applied the new sets of materials as instructed, which significantly enhanced the textures' realism. Using Substance Painter has undoubtedly elevated our capabilities, and I'm confident that it will be a valuable tool for future projects.
For the presentation in Unreal Engine, I opted for a straightforward lighting setup rather than anything overly complex. I used four lights: three rectangular lights and one standard light bulb. The bulb provided a subtle blue effect in the background, adding depth to the scene. Two of the rectangular lights were positioned to give a natural illumination to the character, ensuring even lighting across the face. The third rectangular light was used to create a blue rim light around the face, while the standard light bulb added a rim light effect at the back of the head, enhancing the overall dimensionality.
I'm pleased with the outcome, although I wished I had more time to explore additional creative options. Looking ahead, I'm excited for the next block, where I plan to create my own bust, applying all that I've learned and pushing my creative boundaries even further.
