I am an applied microeconomist with broad interests in environmental, labor, and health economics. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
My Job Market Paper investigates the long-run effects of 1950s atmospheric nuclear testing on longevity. Leveraging wind-driven fallout patterns, I find that pre-conception exposure significantly reduces postnatal survival. I am extending this research in collaboration with Douglas Almond and Joseph Ferrie. Using national NUMIDENT and Census records, we investigate the impact of prenatal fallout exposure on late-life cognitive disability.
I am also actively engaged in research focused on China. My current projects cover U.S.-China trade relations and carbon emission reduction in transportation.
