Teaching

Knowledge Mobilization

I believe science and technology should be accessed more easily and freely in society. I am building skills to more effectively communicate and engage with non-expert and public audiences. Watch examples of short, interesting videos made by student mentees and myself.

Learn how photocatalysts can help improve air quality in cities

Learn about TiO2 coating research-- by my mentee -Siwei Zhao

Silver nanoparticles application on membranes for water treatment

A vintage style video on uranium research - by Victor Le

Aquatic Chemistry

My favorite course! I taught this core course from 2012 - 2013 at the University of Michigan. This course provides an introduction to the principles of water chemistry and reactions applicable to the analysis of the chemical composition of natural and engineered water treatment systems. I presented lectures and instructed student to learn Visual MINTEQ 3.0 for aqueous speciation calculations for water quality assessment.

Design of Environ. Engineering Systems

A very useful course that I taught in 2010. This course includes topics of design and theoretical understanding of environmental processes; biological, physical and chemical processes and reactor configurations commonly used for water quality control. I lead discussion session and course review in design of environmental engineering systems.
