A collaboration between Dolphin House Community Development Association and Trinity College Dublin.
Welcome to the Homepage for the Yup the Flats! project, a participatory research project conducted by researchers from Trinity College Dublin in partnership the Dolphin House Community Development Association and with the residents of Dolphin House. Follow the links at the top of the page to watch our short film, view our galleries and to find out more about the project.
Dolphin House and Park is a strong, neighborly and proud community in Dublin's South Inner City. Built in 1957, the complex is made up of 392 flats in 6 blocks. It remains Dublin's largest public housing flat complex. Generations of families live there and now, through the slow process of regeneration, the flats are coming down. This project has sought to understand how regeneration is being experienced and to document life in the flats using arts based creative techniques.
As you explore this website, you will find a short film, a gallery of photography, an archive of creative outputs, including art and poetry, along with links to a community artefact. Please feel free to use these resources for teaching, research or art. We ask that you do so ethically and responsibly by crediting the research team and the community in Dolphin House. If you plan to use any of the resources you find here and would like to get in touch with the research team to discuss this, please feel free to do so, we would love to hear from you.
