  • Leading Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) projects to develop innovative control systems to improve traffic safety and mobility performance for all the travel modes enabled by V2X communications and control optimization.
  • Mentoring one Ph.D. student.
  • Developing two research papers and one HDOT report.

Post-doctoral Research Assistant, Purdue University, USA (2019-2019)

  • Leading three USDOT projects related to CAV adoption, CAV and parking, and situational awareness enhancing system development for partial and conditional vehicle automation.
  • Leading one independent study related to emerging travel options for intercity travel.
  • Providing support to two USDOT projects related to in-vehicle information design and user trust towards partial vehicle automation technology.
  • Mentoring three Ph.D. students and one master students.
  • Developing seven research papers and two USDOT reports.

Research Assistant, Purdue University, USA (2012-2019)

  • Led the effort of five USDOT projects, developed six Lyles School of Civil Engineering research projects, provided support to six USDOT projects in areas related to sustainable transportation, transportation equity and safety, accessibility and land use, and freight transportation.
  • Mentored one junior Ph.D. student, three visiting Ph.D. students, and four undergraduate students.
  • Produced 15 published research papers, 10 papers under review, 38 conference proceedings/presentations, and 7 reports for USDOT.
