Please follow this 5 step process when creating your ads.
1) Before you begin: Visit our Ad Design Guidelines page for best practices to ensure your ad is legible and not too busy.
2) Canvas Size:

To create your canvas manually, find your board size(s) on the chart below (Blue and/or Red boxes).
Using your preferred image editor, start your design with the right Canvas Size (Grey boxes).
You can create a larger canvas, as long as it matches the aspect ratio listed in the last column. Aspect ratio calculator.
3) Export Size: Once your design is finished, we ask that you reduce the image size on export to match the "Export Size" (Green boxes on chart).
ALL STATES
Ads meant for 10×6 Boards should be exported at 640×384 (Images and Video)
OKLA ONLY
Ads meant for 8×4 Boards should be exported at 1024×512 (Images) and/or 1600×800 (Video)
Ads meant for 8×2 Boards should be exported at 1024×256 (Images) and/or 1600×400 (Video)
4) Location-specific ads? If creating separate copy for each state/local area, the only state with board sizes other than 10×6 is Oklahoma.
If using Canva to design your 10×6 ads, please follow these steps: (The resulting PNG file will be 640×384 at 300PPI)
If you need instructions for the other board sizes (8×4 and 8×2) using Canva, please email the Ad Design and Content Manager now and ask for instruction.
• Create a 1280×768px canvas, finish design, and Share > Download > File type: PDF Print (not "Standard") > Download.
• Go to this website and use these settings to convert the PDF to a PNG: Pixel Density: 300, Width: 640, Height: 384, Alpha: No, Pages: leave blank
If you'll be submitting a video ad, please make sure you compress the video properly. We suggest you create the master video file using whatever editing application you prefer, making sure your sequence settings are set to the correct dimensions (See chart at top of this page. Choose either "Canvas Size" or "Export Size" as your sequence dimensions). You'll then export the video as QuickTime ProRes 422 or another master format (AVI or MP4, as last resort).
Once your master video file has been created, download the free application HandBrake for both Mac and PC and follow the instructions below:
• Load MOV file or master video file into HandBrake.
• Choose Preset > General > Fast 1080p30.
• Click Dimensions tab. Under Resolution & Scaling choose custom resolution limit.
• Enter dimensions 640×384 for 10×6 boards, 1600×800 for 8×4 boards, or 1600×400 for 8×2 boards.
• Click Audio tab. Set all tracks to none.
• Click Filters tab. Turn all filters off.
• Choose Save As destination and output file name.
• Click Save New Preset button and give your new preset a name like “YSB Video specs”
• Click Start button to begin encoding.
