design your ad

Please follow this 4 step process when creating your ads.

Step 1) Before You Begin

Visit our Ad Design Guidelines page for best practices to ensure your ad is legible and not too busy.

Step 2) Choose an Option

**** OPTION 1 ****

Blank templates. Choose your application and board size below:
Photoshop: 8×2, 8×4, 10×6, 16x10
Illustrator: 8×2, 8×4, 10×6, 16x10
InDesign: 8×2, 8×4, 10×6

If you need to know what board sizes are included at your target locations, click on the location(s) found on this map.

**** OPTION 2 ****

Create your own canvas:
Find your board size(s) on the chart below (Blue and/or Red boxes).
Using your preferred image editor, start your design with the correct dimensions (Gray boxes).

*NOTE: You can design on a larger canvas, as long as it matches the aspect ratio listed in the last column. For example 640x384 is very small on larger monitors, so you can increase the size to 1280x768.

ALL STATES have 10x6 boards, OKLA ONLY has 10×6 boards in addition to 8×2, 8×4, and 16×10 boards.

Step 3) Location-Specific Ads?

If creating separate copy for each state/local area, the only state with board sizes other than 10×6 is Oklahoma.

Step 4) File Naming

Please use the following naming convention (40 characters max) - e.g. "BusinessName_UniqueID_BoardSize.png", “ATT_YSB01_10x6.png” “ATT_YSB02_10x6.png”. The UniqueID can be anything you choose.

Video Encoding Notes

If you'll be submitting a video ad, please make sure you compress the video properly. We suggest you create the master video file using whatever editing application you prefer, making sure your sequence settings are set to the correct dimensions (See chart at top of this page). You'll then export the video as QuickTime ProRes 422 or another master format (AVI or MP4, as last resort).

Once your master video file has been created, download the free application HandBrake for both Mac and PC and follow the instructions below:

• Load MOV file or master video file into HandBrake.
• Choose Preset > General > Fast 1080p30.
• Click Dimensions tab. Under Resolution & Scaling choose custom resolution limit.
• Enter dimensions. See chart on this page.
• Click Audio tab. Set all tracks to none.
• Click Filters tab. Turn all filters off.
• Choose Save As destination and output file name.
• Click Save New Preset button and give your new preset a name like “YSB Video specs”
• Click Start button to begin encoding.
