I am a health behavior scholar and epidemiologist studying caregiving and social connections as lifespan public health issues. I apply empirical approaches and health behavior theories to examine the heterogeneous and dynamic experiences of caregiving and their implications for the health and well-being of caregivers and the individuals they support.
(1) Psychosocial well-being (e.g., loneliness, social isolation) of family caregivers and individuals living with dementia and other serious illnesses
(2) Emerging caregiving networks in later life and their broader implications, including relationship dynamics among older adults, family and social networks, and direct care workers
(3) Trajectories and implications of care and caregiving across the life course
(1) Psychological well-being (e.g., depression, loneliness) and stress-coping experience (e.g., benefit-finding) among diverse cancer caregivers
(2) Community-based peer support interventions on diabetes self-management in the United States and globally
