sugar: 1 cup
flour (I prefer cake flour but all-purpose is fine!): 1/4 cup
egg: 3, large, room temperature
buttermilk: 1 cup, room temperature
butter: 1/2 cup, softened
lemon: half, medium size (you will need both lemon zest and lemon juice)
salt: 1/4 tsp
vanilla extract: 1 tbsp
dried mango (my secret!!): 1/2 - 1 cup, diced
frozen pie crust (just pick your favorite brand): 1, room temperature
Mix all ingredients. Preheat oven at 400 F.
PS: If you want to feel like a real baker, try this order: eggs -> sugar and butter -> flour -> everything else -> dried mango.
2. Pour into pie shell.
3. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes (this helps the pie crust taste AWESOME). Then bake at 350 F for 35-45 minutes.
4. Remove from the oven, pour the strawberry sauce or not, cool for a hour (I love to frigate it overnight), and enjoy!!
