SPARK is currently in contact with Irish political representatives, national media, EU‑level journalists, and youth broadcasters
SPARK began on February 4th, 2026, when 2 friends — frustrated and fed up with the proposed social media ban for under‑16s — decided that young people deserved a voice in decisions about their own digital lives. What started as a small act of resistance quickly grew into a youth‑led movement for autonomy, fairness, and the right to be heard.
Since launching SPARK, we’ve grown from 2 frustrated friends into a youth‑led movement that’s speaking up, organising, and refusing to be ignored. We’ve built our first public statement, created outreach plans to contact TDs, tech companies, and university societies, and started shaping a space where young people can finally be heard. What we’re most proud of is simple: we turned frustration into action, and action into a voice that’s getting louder every day.
