Through Ideathonesia, Youth Co:Lab Indonesia's primary objective is to increase the basic entrepreneurship skills of the young generation in the country. Given that the majority of business development occurs in Java, YCL Indonesia takes the leap and focuses on expanding our exposure outside the Java area. The 2022 Ideathonesia is a project aimed at reaching young people in Eastern Indonesia possessing ideas for social entrepreneurship and is willing to start their social entrepreneurship journey. The program helps them in validating their ideas, launch their products, and equip them with a go-to-market strategy to gain revenue.
Over the past three editions of Ideathonesia from 2018, we have gathered more than 150 young aspiring entrepreneurs from across the country to embark on a journey of capacity building and honing their aspirations into valuable and marketable social entrepreneurship ventures.
In 2022, Youth Co:Lab - an initiative under the co-leadership of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Citi Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Social Innovation Accelerator Program (SIAP) developed the latest edition of Ideathonesia. This year, we have a distinct target to reach 100% of the participants hailing from the Eastern part of Indonesia.
50 participants have been selected to participate in a 5-week long intensive training with 6 workshops. UNDP in collaboration with SIAP has developed a rigorous curriculum to meet participants' needs and take into account multiple variables in developing a social enterprise.
