The following are policy guidelines for contributors to take account of...
1. The purpose of this website is to provide a space for youth work practitioners and those interested in youth work in Northern Ireland can write about the work. The rationale is to create critical dialogue on the practice, policy and direction of youth work in Northern Ireland. The space is open for contributions through the channels described in ‘How to submit’.
2. The platform is not for the promotion of individual organisations. Therefore content and appropriateness of material is at the discretion of the Advisory group and Editorial group as outlined in the ‘Who we are’ section.
3. The website's primary purpose is writing about practice, policy and direction of youth work and the youth work sector. Therefore, the advertising of individual events (training, fundraising, celebrations) is not supported unless directly related to that purpose as it may divert users from this purpose or overload the volume and focus of the site.
4. The members of the editorial group and the advisory group strive for balance in terms of contributions. We also strive to ensure sufficient academic standards. Where this is not fully achieved, please forward comments and suggestions to e.mcardle@ulster.ac.uk to address this.
5. As a public site, it should not be used for the expression of individual opinions or unwarranted criticism of individuals or organisations. We encourage professional commentary and conversation through articles and written material and encourage robust appropriate discourse.
6. Please note all communication on the Website is filtered by the editorial group or the advisory group, who reserve the right to 'take down ' any contributions that may conflict with these guidelines.
7. Feedback or suggestions for content should be forwarded to e.mcardle@ulster.ac.uk.
