All procedures were approved by the University of Miami Institutional Review Board (IRB). Informed consent and assent were obtained from all parents or primary caregivers and youth. A parent or legal guardian first completed an initial phone screen to determine initial eligibility. If found to be eligible from the phone screen, youth and their parent completed a diagnostic evaluation before beginning treatment. Youth were assessed by graduate, doctoral, or post-doctoral level clinicians from the University of Miami. The diagnostic assessment was completed using semi-structured interviews, such as the Anxiety Disorder Interview Schedule for the DSM-5, Child Report (ADIS-5-C; Silverman & Albano, in press), or the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview for Children and Adolescents (MINI- KID; Sheehan et al., 1998). Questionnaires were also administered to track symptom severity measured by the Revised Children’s Anxiety and Depression Scale (RCADS; Chorpita et al., 2000; Chorpita et al., 2005). Post-treatment assessments were administered after 16 weeks (end of the intervention) which included a second interview and the same panel of pre/mid questionnaires.
