-Over 2 million children worldwide are victim to child labor
-child labor/forced labor is reinforced by discrimination
-Hershey’s, Mars, Nestle, and Cadbury use child labor in their chocolate
-the child labor takes place in African countries: Ghana and C’ote Divoire
-they are forced to work all day in the heat with machetes
-child labor is exploitation of children: hurting them physically and mentally
-Hershey’s, Nestle, and Mars broke their promise to end child labor
-chocolate mass produced also comes at the cost of the environment
-in Xinjiang, China, there is a lot of forced labor of Uighur Muslims
-there is forced labor in many countries (Madagascar, Brazil, India, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Mali, Colombia, etc.) of many different goods (fish, coffee, bricks, cotton, diamond, tobacco, textiles, electronics, soap, grapes, etc.)
-in the U.S. there is not child labor/forced labor, however, American based companies get goods from other countries that were produced using child labor/forced labor
-many companies (not just chocolate) use child labor
Nikes, Disney, Adidas, Oreo, too many to name
-fast fashion is a large user of child labor
--no company can ensure 100% that they are producing goods with no child/forced labor (so even fair trade could have it

Take Action!
-boycott companies that use child labor or forced labor as much as you can
-support companies/brands that work hard to end these practices
-spread the word about child labor/forced labor and which companies to support
-create petitions
-you can also create your own way to take action with ideas from Take Action!
