I love tattooing, tattooing changed my life, I'm forever indebted to tattooing and every single person that has allowed me to tattoo them. Without that I fear where I would be. Tattooing is beautiful. What do you mean I get to put these ideas I have on a beautiful vessel that goes out and lives a life. Tattooing is so cool, you can put art on a canvas and install it somewhere but tattoos go everywhere. I have no idea where even 99% of the tattoos I've done are right now and that's truly beautiful. I hope my tattoos make people even half as happy as they make me when I do them.
How I started tattooing is kind of a long story, but whatever. I was in a fortnite team/organization and was growing up and didn't have the time to put in the hours to stay good so I asked how I could stay but not as a player and we needed a graphic designer. I had no idea how to do that but I learned. Started designing for all types of youtubers and content creators, thumbnails, headers, promotionals, etc. Then the boom of everyone starting their own clothing brand came around, so I started designing for clothing brands. One of my designs was worn by a model who was covered in probably 3 layers of euro scratcher work and i was like wtf is this… and i fell down the rabbithole. I found all these amazing artists and realized I live nowhere near any of them and I'm too poor to travel. So I ordered my own machine and ripped the first designs I could find off pinterest and destroyed my legs. Friends saw what I was doing and begged me for tats and I said no. over and over again until they broke me. I wasn’t a typical artist, idk how to draw. All I had was a vision and a way to make that graphically. I didn't think I could apply that to tattooing. I thought I had to have years of drawing under my belt. Tattooing for real never felt obtainable. As I dug deeper into the scene just as a tattoo appreciator I realized these are just people doing whatever, it's not formal, it's not taught, it's experienced. I wanted that I needed that. I would then just randomly pick up the tattoo machine every couple months to whip out a tattoo, but I wasn't progressing at all. I had to relearn what I was doing every time. Then one day I was working on my car at a homies house complaining about how much I hated my job and how much I hated life blah blah blah. But he told me he saw it in me and said he knew I had the drive and ability to make it for real as a tattoo artist. I believe everything this dude tells me, one of the wisest men I know. But I didn't believe in myself. But I trusted him. I went home and spent the last money I had and bought a nice $150 tattoo machine and actual supplies. (i was using a $35 tattoo bundle off of amazon at this point). I made an instagram and sent it, a month or 2 went by and i was working constantly i had no time to do tattoos or create designs. I hated my job and I hated that it was doing this to my passion. So at like 200-300 followers i was like fuck it, quit my job, no 2 weeks. I just left in the middle of the day at my job I had since I was 15 (6 years). I then knew I had to make this work and I did. It was hard at first, but I fell in love with creating texture designs. Made a whole flash sheet of it and posted it. Nothing, silence. No one wanted it and i was like fuck, idk what to do. I then begged friends to let me tattoo my designs on them, free, ill even buy you food, whatever you want. Cause all i was doing at this time was whatever designs they wanted, not my own. It finally hit me. I got one person to say yes. I posted it then people i guess finally realized it was cool lol. Then it snowballed from there. Traction was growing like crazy on my instagram. Thank god people didn't notice I was tattooing like the same 6 people over and over again. I was getting actual clients. Still not many because I was living in an area that didn't have a scene for what i was doing. But with this I grew a large following, I got to like 8-10k followers just from tattooing the same people over and over again. And I guess I'm saying that so the people who want to start tattooing realize, u dont have to be this crazy well known person or good artist who can draw everything perfectly. You can be just some random person, in a random city, no real artist ability, but the vision and passion to get it done and you can get it done. I think anyone is capable of tattooing. It's not hard, it's like anything else, just practice. I believe in each and every person that wants to start tattooing just like how my friend believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Go out there and tattoo, fuck up your legs with shitty tattoos, fuck up ur friends idc, have fun.
Who doesn’t love a good meme, I doomscroll for hours a day and I know u do too. Memes have wandered their way into every corner of our life. You parents throwing out memes and slang that you’d never imagine they’d say or even see, meme shirts at every major retail store, memes on your feed even when you’re not looking for them. Your homie sending you 30+ reels that you never open, the list could go on forever. The cultural impact of memes as a whole are more than I think anyone was ready for. If you aren’t in the know of the most recent meme, ur out of the loop, ur old. Memes are on the forefront. That's where meme tattoos come in. The rise of meme tattoos is thru the roof. Almost everyday a new banger is on instagram blowing up getting hundreds to thousands of likes, shares & reposts. Meme tattoos go through the roof on engagement and reach, beyond even just the tattoo community. Ask one of ur normie friends and they probably have seen 1 or 2. Memes/meme tattoos have no sign of slowing down and I don’t think they ever will. With this insane reach meme tattoos get there are some negatives that come with it… Some people are again not tattooing for the love of the game, it's for the love of going viral, blowing up, getting whatever instagram fame they so desire. I’m not upset about the aspect of wanting something to blow up and get crazy views, I think it's awesome! never in a million years did I think me, some fortnite gamer loser would have this many people be exposed to their art. I’ve cried just thinking about it so many times before. The viral aspect also exposes so many people to the side of DIY tattooing that they probably weren’t exposed to before. But when people are chasing this fame for personal fame and not the love of tattooing some silly shit it blows my mind. I do all my meme tattoos for $20 max, most of the time free. I want these insane ideas to live on skin for as long as they can. It's hilarious, its beautiful, it's a conversation starter, it's pushing tattoo standards and boundaries. It just saddening me to see the rise of memes and meme culture be taken advantage of and stripped of what it's meant to be… FUN & EPIC & SILLY.
Long story short memes are awesome, meme tattoos I’d say are even cooler. I got a femboy minion, roblox jesus, a trampstamp saying “yeah, sex is great but FORTNITE”, and more. Go get a stupid tattoo, who cares. It makes getting all the rest of ur tattoos easier cause u can always say, well at least its not as stupid as *insert ur stupid silly meme tat here*. DO IT FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME AND NOT THE LOVE OF THE FAME. Being yourself and being genuine is more important than any fame you have or will ever have. Touch grass, send ur homie reels, and love . bye <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
The world is ever changing at our finger tips, we see it all unfold faster than we ever had before. Our phones tell us everything we need and more. Spoonfed to us by the people who care about us the least. We spend hours on instagram, tiktok or whatever that tickles your fancy. It's fun. I doomscrolling for hours too. Our info, what we like and don't like being sold to others so they can sell us even more. Sold to AI for them to figure out how to sell to us better and faster than before. Sold to AI so they can understand us better than we can even understand ourselves. On my own feeds on all the apps I see more ads and AI then I see content I want to see. I can even look something up without AI spitting something out at me first. AI is killing everything and it's showing up in what I love most more and more everyday. !!!TATTOOING!!! It makes me want to blow my brains out. AI is taking over everything and one of the only things it can’t take over, our own imagination, creativity and vision. I can’t believe tattoo “artists” are selling this out to AI. Giving up their expression of art to some prompt on MidJourney, ChatGPT or whatever, to put on someones skin to make god knows how much of an upcharge on. The big boom of tattooing in culture came as an expression of yourself, you are in control of your own body. EXPRESSION! EXPRESSION! Giving into AI art is giving up this. You aren’t tattooing for the love of the game, for the love of the art, or the passion. I’d like to believe every tattoo artist started because they loved the idea of showing their beautiful artist brains on skin that we get to have for the rest of this life. The more and more I open up my Instagram feed the less hope I have in this. It breaks my heart. I see AI created art plastered on peoples bodies that don’t even know it. I have this myself. NOT ONCE have I seen an artist being open about the use of AI! If you are going to do it, at least have the balls to let people know before you permanently alter their body for the rest of their life. I fear that not one of these people feel even the slightest bit of guilt because their pockets are being lined with money that some AI on some computer somewhere rotting away the earth has made for them. FUCK AI! AND FUCK YOU AI ARTISTS!
