Your Family Home (YFH) was built on the premise of providing a solution to an ongoing problem in the foster care system. Our organizing team wants to offer a unique way for foster children and their siblings to live together when housing is the biggest hurdle. The organization's owners and operators, Keithan and Sakenna Dear, experienced firsthand the detrimental toll the separation of children in foster care from their siblings took on their mental health. Children would yearn out for their little brother or older sister in a way best friends would if one moved long distance. From crying long nights to acting out behaviorally they would make it known to all who would listen that they were unhappy without the comfort of their family.

Keithan Dear

Co-Owner and OperatorKeithan is a father of 2 with a passion for learning and teaching technology. His role includes managing daily procedures, safety, staffing, and tech support. Keithan’s experience is comprised of a master’s degree in technology, with over 15 years working in the field of technology, and management/supervisory experience in both corporate and government settings.

Sakenna Dear

Co-Owner and Resource ParentPronouns: she/herDelta State University GraduateNative of Clarksdale, MS Sakenna is driven and focused on achieving her goals as an entrepreneur and making a change for good in the world. Her organizational responsibilities are comprised of fundraising, collaboration with stakeholders, and advocating for foster children. Over 15 years of experience in education and childcare has provided her with the skills and experience to identify the critical needs of children and secure adequate services to meet those needs.

Sandra Lott

CFO and Resource ParentMS Valley State University GraduateNative of Clarksdale, MS Mrs. Lott is a retired IRS auditor with over 30 years of experience of providing financial and tax advice. She is a proud graduate of MVSU with a degree in business and accounting. Her responsibilities are to ensure proper financial protocol and procedures.

Myron Lott

Data and Marketing Manger Pronouns: he/himMS Valley State University GraduateNative of Clarksdale, MS Myron is an educational expert with over 10 years of experience working with students through teaching and tutoring in school districts and colleges across MS. His experience includes training in data management with a master's degree in bioinformatics.

Debbie Dear

Food Service ManagerHorn Lake, MS Debbie is a full-time chef and food enthusiast with over 25 years of experience in the food service industry. She is firm, organized, and knowledgeable of all Mississippi food and health regulations and plans to keep our children happy and healthy.

Veronica Dear

Resource Parent Assistant/Housekeeping SupervisorNative of Clarksdale, MS Verronica “Tuttie” Dear is a childcare enthusiast and has over 20 years of experience providing childcare services in Clarksdale. Her passion is children and cleanliness. Her responsibilities as head-of-house is to ensure children have safe, clean, and well-kept living quarters.

Mary Burdette

Nurse/ Primary Health ProviderPronouns: she/herSardis, MS Mary is a registered nurse with 10 years of experience providing healthcare in nursing homes, private homes, and hospitals across MS. Her responsibility as the healthcare supervisor is to ensure medication schedules are developed in ordnance of each child's prescription and doctor's orders. She provides first aid and health safety measures are in place and followed according to the MS Dept of Health's policies and procedures guidelines for childcare centers.
