3-2-1 Review Worksheet
What is it? This is a simple, but powerful, review strategy. It asks students to reflect after any activity by giving answers to a variety of questions. The example to the left asks for 3 things the student learned, 2 things that surprised the student, 1 question the student has.
Why I love this strategy: It is so easy to create and for students to understand. Additionally, it is easy to modify to any topic, activity or level.

Hero or Villain Activity
What is it? Students analyze whether a historical figure, character, etc. is more heroic or villainous in this engaging activity! Students start by completing a T-Chart, drafting an action figure to represent the person as a hero or villain, then creating a final draft. Rubric included!
Why I love this activity: It can work for almost any content or topic! It's easy to alter to fit your needs. Students are very familiar to understand a hero/villain story. I also typically require a written or spoken aspect to help students explain their thinking.

One-Pager
What is it? A one-pager is a way for a student to show their understanding of a topic. The goal is to fill the space with text, graphics, and student responses to what they've learned.
Why I love this activity: Many times our lessons/assessments are rigid. A one-pager is so flexible, which students love! When they are allowed to show their learning without limits, they tend to exceed your expectations!

Person of the Year
What is it? Like the hero/villain activity, students can look at a person of their choosing and analyze their impact.
Why I love this activity: In addition to the historical opportunities this activity provides, students can also use this to recognize peers and adults in their lives. One year, we had students choose someone important to them and post their projects in the main hallway of our school. It was an amazing experience!
