They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
School Social Workers are licensed and/or certified mental health providers serving diverse groups of students, families, schools, and communities. School Social Workers provide evidence-based behavioral, social emotional, and mental health services. School Social Workers promote a safe and equitable school climate and culture supporting positive academic and behavioral outcomes. School Social Workers collaborate with school and community resources empowering students to reach their full potential
School Psychologists & School Social Workers work together to support the health & wellness of educators, students and families; as well as, help ALL students access continued learning and community supports across academic, social, emotional, behavioral and mental health skills.
SLPs (also known as speech-language therapists or speech therapists) are trained to work on many types of learning differences. These include dyslexia , auditory processing disorder , language disorders and social communication disorder . They also work with kids who have nonverbal learning disabilities.
Occupational therapy (OT) helps people who struggle to do everyday tasks because of poor motor skills. For kids, that includes tasks that are part of learning and functioning well at school. OT works on the skills kids need to do the things they struggle with, from zipping their coat to writing and typing.
School-based physical therapists (PT) are part of a team of related service providers who support a student's ability to access his/her educational environment. As specialists in movement, they assist a student's physical participation in a variety of settings throughout the school day.

Kids’ Link RI™ is a hotline for children in emotional crisis. A program offered in collaboration with Gateway Healthcare, Lifespan, Hasbro Children's Hospital and Bradley Hospital, Kids’ Link RI is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for children suffering from behavioral problems or psychiatric illness.
